Nicolas Mas, the Catalan. A red and yellow legend, he is known for his discreet temperament and immense humility. Nicolas Mas began his career at ES Catalane before joining the legendary USAP club. French champion in 2009, he won the Bouclier de Brennus with his beloved club. An iconic front-row player, he combines technique and explosiveness. Very strong in the scrum, he became a master of his position. Called up to the French national team in 2003, he wore the blue jersey 85 times, making him the most capped tighthead prop. He played in 10 Six Nations Championships, including a Grand Slam in 2010, and 3 World Cups. He played in the famous 2011 final against the All Blacks. A lover of his Catalan homeland, he temporarily left the red and yellow to put on the Montpellier jersey. A keen mechanic, he now lives near Perpignan with his wife and 3 children.
