Chicandier, the rugby bacon
Welcome to this section dedicated to art and rugby.
After some minor health issues at the start of the year, our international Chicandier, like the Phoenix, returns stronger and more vigorous than ever. With a teeming mind and a calmed body, or perhaps the other way around... I can't remember, as he alone has taken a vow of satiety. Our Jason is in great shape and his well-being extends into his private life, with Mrs. Ramirez no longer having to manage the monster. The show "Lard de vivre" is in full swing, and "Matin Chantant" is still singing. All is well in the best of all possible worlds for this extraordinary and unclassifiable artist who shares many of the brand's values. This blog post will allow you to learn a little more about Chicandier's personality through his ties to rugby. It's also an opportunity to announce a show in Toulouse, which only insiders will be able to attend.
Chicandier's News
2023 continues at full throttle for our friend Chicandier. The artist, actor, and comedian never ceases to amaze. After a role in Guillaume Canet's blockbuster "Asterix & Obelix," Chicandier continues to fight frigidity through his show "Matin Chantant," where he shares the stage with his accomplice Mathou Cann. He continues to fight gloom by starring opposite Luchini in "Un Homme Heureux." He pursues his quest for the "grrraaaaa" by frequently portraying a gastronomic adventurer, Indiana Jaune, and, of course, he greedily continues his battle for the preservation of French culture through his new YouTube show "Lard de vivre." A rich and varied newsreel, with a constant focus on the pursuit of pleasure and good times to share.
Chicandier, a remedy for gloom
Chicandier is an unclassifiable artist; he is like no other. To fully appreciate Chicandier, one must go beyond words and initial impressions. Indeed, Chicandier unites paradoxes. Humor is a pretext for defending serious subjects such as the preservation of French culture; Rabelaisian vulgarity is an invitation to historical details and anecdotes; grand feasts serve the finesse of French gastronomy; vulgarity is an intellectual courtesy. Watching a Chicandier show is discovering a piece of France, entering the heart of a territory and a multifaceted guest. Chicandier is magical; he is like a kaleidoscope, allowing everyone, regardless of their cultural level, to appreciate a beautiful moment and experience it through an original, colorful, and singular vision. Some will see a comedian, others an epicurean, some will see an excessive and loud-mouthed guy, but I see a rebel, a modern-day genius who embodies a form of freedom of thought that only humor can currently allow.
Chicandier and rugby
Jason recounts his first rugby memory
Adopted by Saint-Etienne, Jason is not from a rugby town. On the contrary, he grew up in the heart of the "green cauldron" where football is the religion. Perhaps it is this initial unfamiliarity that led to his first oval-ball memory. While studying notary law in Clermont-Ferrand in 2003, he went out one evening with a friend to a bar. There, he met some Clermont players. Naively, not to say irrationally, he initiated a shooter contest against a "Jaunard." The verdict was clear: Chicande spent 48 hours in a rotating bed, while his opponent from the evening played a Top 14 match the next day, full of vigor.
If rugby were a dish...
Chicandier answered our now traditional question, "What if... "
"I would say beef bourguignon. For me, it's the dish that most closely resembles rugby. Rugby players are great meat; the better the meat, the better the beef bourguignon. But the other ingredients are just as important. It's like a rugby team; there's magic, a kind of alchemy that must operate between the players for them to become a team. There are tough pieces and softer pieces. It's similar with players; there are the big tacklers, the strong physical players, and those who are a bit more tactical or evasive. Beef bourguignon is a work of construction; it's not a quick dish. The more the beef matures, the better it tastes. It needs to work. You also have to know when to stop it. Here too, it's like rugby; a team is built over time, around a vision, and sometimes you also have to know when to rest a player to manage their potential while preserving them. And a real beef bourguignon is only made with alcohol, no water, only wine. It's like for a successful third half; players only truly relax with alcohol, which you shouldn't hesitate to accompany with good potatoes."
If rugby were a drink...
"Without hesitation, it would be a red wine. Why not a good Madiran to accompany the beef bourguignon? A local wine, tannic, tough, and authentic. Full of aromas, with personality, like a handsome rugby player. A wine that can be aged and softens with time.
If you were to record a "Lard de Vivre" show with a rugby player?
I'm thinking of Joe Tekori. I imagine this show in the Samoa Islands or in a more local setting that resembles it. The colossus took me under his wing during my first shooting with RR, and I felt skinny. I might need a translator for my slang expressions, but I'm sure we'd have a great time.

Which location or restaurant would you choose?
I'm thinking of the 3T Theater in Toulouse or L'Auberge du Vieux Puits in Fontjoncouse. For the 3T, they are friends, and for the restaurant, I love Gilles Goujon. He's a hard worker with values. He's not easy, but he serves the collective. He's a great chef who makes committed and powerful dishes that resemble my image of rugby.
Chicandier and Religion Rugby
"I got closer to RR because what I like is the association of Jean-Charles and Julien; it's a story of men. It starts there, it ends there. They are straightforward and fair guys. I like their clothes; I want to wear them, and I wear them every day, in fact. I like the construction and the mindset. If the brand still exists in 50 years, I will have had the pleasure of traveling a part of the road with them."

Chicandier, Toulouse show on June 3, 2023.
Religion Rugby and the Canaille Club are delighted to host Chicandier for a brand new show in Toulouse on June 3. Chicandier gives a preview of this show, which is forbidden to those who have no sense of humor.
"I'm setting the tone, it's going to be brutal. This show will be a best of my 4 years on stage. I'll be a divorced Chicandier, adrift, living on the streets and squatting at friends' places. I'm going to engage in introspection and go back in time to analyze when things went wrong... holidays, sex, partner swapping, the showbiz world, my passion for neighborhood bars..."
"I'm telling you, my Toulousain friends, budget for a babysitter!!"

Chicandier has a message for the French national rugby team (XV de France)
"Haven't you got enough on your shoulders that you're once again being asked to give everything to extract us, like a happy interlude, from this prevailing gloom. Make us dream, make us vibrate. You are lions, and to whom else but lions could we ask for strength in such times?"
